Main Actions for Zhu Ye Shi Gao Tang

The main functions of this chinese medicine herbal formula are to clear heat, generate fluids, tonify the Qi and harmonize the stomach. It is most commonly used for Qi level heat stagnated in the lungs and stomach. When heat is in these areas it will injure the Qi and fluids.

Indications and Symptoms for Zhu Ye Shi Gao Tang

lingering fever, vomiting, irritability, thirst, parched mouth, dry lips, dry throat, choking cough, stuffiness in the chest

Tongue – red, little or no coat

Pulse – rapid

Medicinal Ingredients of Zhu Ye Shi Gao Tang

Dan Zhu Ye (Spica Prunellae Vulgaris, Selfheal Spike, Prunella) - 9-15g.

-clear heat, soothe irritability

Shi Gao (Gypsum, Gypsum) - 30g.

Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng, Ginseng Root) 6g.

-tonify Qi, generate fluids

Mai Men Dong (Tuber Ophiopogonis Japonici, Ophiopogon Tuber) - 9-18g.

Ban Xia (Rhizoma Pinelliae Tematae, Pinellia Rhizome) - 9g.

-direct rebellious stomach Qi downwards, stop vomiting

Zhi Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis, Licorice Root) - 3-6g.

Geng Mi (Non-glutinous Rice )- 12-15g.
