Indications and Symptoms for Qing Ying Tang

Xi Jiao  (Cornu Rhinoceri, Rhinoceros Horn) - 9g.

-clears heat from Ying level, clears heat, calms the spirit (substituted with Shui Niu Jiao

Xuan Shen   (Radix Scrophulariae, Ningpo Figwort Root, Scrophularia) - 9g.

-clears heat, nourish yin

Sheng Di Huang  (Radix Rehmanniae Glutinosae, Chinese Foxglove Root, Rehmannia) - 15g.

-cools blood, nourish yin

Mai Men Dong   (Tuber Ophiopogonis Japonici) - 9g.

-nourish yin, generates fluids

Jin Yin Hua  (Flos Lonicerae Japonicae, Honeysuckle Flower, lonicera)- 9g.

-clear heat from Qi level, relieve toxicity

Lian Qiao  (Fructus Forsythiae Suspensae, Forsythia Fruit) - 6g.

Preparation Instructions of Qing Ying Tang

When preparing this TCM formula Xi Jiao (Rhinoceros Horn) is substituted with Shui Niu Jiao (Cornu Bubali, Water Buffalo Horn) with an increased dosage.  Shui Niu Jiao should be decocted for 15-20 minutes before adding the other ingredients.
