Main Actions for He Ren Yin

The functions of this Chinese medicine herbal formula are to tonify the Qi and blood while treating malarial disorders. The TCM formula is best suited in conditions of Qi and blood disorders mainly effecting the gallbladder channel which over time effects the liver blood. The Liver will create disharmony between the stomach and spleen leading to both Qi and blood deficiency.

Indications and Symptoms for He Ren Yin

chronic malarial disorders, malaria disorders which are unremitting, pale complexion, emaciation, fever chills, aggravated by exertion

Tongue – pale

Pulse – large, deficient

Medicinal Ingredients of He Ren Yin

He Shou Wu (Radix Polygoni Multiflori, Fleeceflower Root, Polygonum Hosuwu) - 9-30g.

-tonify liver and kidney, nourish essence and blood

Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng, Ginseng Root) - 9-15g.

-strongly tonify yuan Qi

Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Chinese Angelica Root, Tang-kuei) - 6-9g.

-nourish liver blood

Chen Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Tangerine Peel, Citrus) - 6-9g.

-regulates middle jiao Qi

Wei Jiang (Roasted Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis Recens) - 6-15g.

-warms middle burner, tonify stomach

Preparation Instructions of He Ren Yin

This Chinese formula is sometimes prepared in a mixture of wine and water. Dang Shen is usually used to substitute the expensive Ren Shen (Ginseng Root) by today’s practitioners.

When possible this formula should be taken 2-3 hours before the attacks.
