Medicinal Ingredients of Bu Fei E Jiao Tang

E Jiao (Gelatinum Corii Asini, Ass-hide Glue, Gelatin) - 45g.

-nourish yin, tonify lung Qi, stop bleeding, nourish blood

Ma Dou Ling (Fructus Aristolochiae, Birthwort Fruit, Aristolochia Fruit) - 15g.

-clear heat, stop cough

Xing Ren (Semen Pruni Armeniacae, Apricot Seed or Kernel) - 6g.

-promotes lung Qi descent, calms wheezing and stops cough

Niu Bang Zi (Fructus Arctii Lappae, Great Burdock Fruit, Arctium) - 7.5g.

-spreads lung Qi, promotes circulation in stagnated throat

Geng Mi (Nonglutinous Rice) - 30g.

Preparation Instructions of Bu Fei E Jiao Tang

This Chinese Medicine herbal formula generally has E Jiao dry fried with wheat bran and then rolled into balls with Geng Me (non-glutinous Rice) flour. The rest of the ingredients are ground into a fine powder and taken as a draft. The draft and E Jiao balls are then taken together in 3-6 gram doses.
