Main Actions for Ba Zhen Tang

Strongly tonifies Qi and blood of the body mainly used for deficiency disorders.

Indications and Symptoms for Ba Zhen Tang

Pale complexion, palpitations with anxiety, poor appetite, shortness of breath, general fatigue, chills, fever, emaciation, vertigo, light headedness, scanty menstruation, uterine bleeding

Tongue – pale body, white coating

Pulse – Thin, weak, deep, frail (may be large but without strength)

Medicinal Ingredients of Ba Zhen Tang

Ba Zhen Tang is made up of Si Wu Tang and SiJun Zi Tang.

SiJun Zi Tang:

Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng, Ginseng Root) - 6-9g.

-tonify lung and spleen Qi

Bai Zhu (Rhizoma Atractyloids Macrocephaelae, Atractylodes (White) Rhizome) - 9-12g.

-tonify spleen Qi, dry dampness

Fu Ling (Sclerotium Poriae Cocos, China-Root, Poria, Hoeien) - 12-15g.

-tonify spleen, dry dampness

Zhi Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis, Honey Fried Licorice Root) - 3-6g.

-tonify Qi, harmonizes middle burner

Si Wu Tang:

Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Glutinosae Conguitae, cooked Rehmannia) - 15-18g.

-nourish blood

Bai Shao Yao (Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae, WhitePeony Root, Peony) - 12-15g.

-nourish blood

Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Chinese Angelica Root, tang-kuei) - 12-15g.

-nourish blood

Chuan Xiong (Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong, Szechuan Lovage Root, Enidium) - 6-9g.

-invigorates blood, moves Qi

Preparation Instructions of Ba Zhen Tang

Ba Zheng Tang should be cooked with 3 slices of Sheng jiang and 2 pieces of da zao. Generally Ren Shen is replaced with a larger dosage of Dang Shen as the cost is much cheaper.
