Oral contraceptive pill screws up women's ability to sniff out perfect mate

Atisha's picture

The oral contraceptive pill has been blamed for many disorders including breast cancer later in life, weight gain, and now, most recently, divorce! Researchers found that women who met their life partner while on the OCP were more likely to leave them after they stopped taking the pill, than women who met their mate OCP free.

The theory was linked to smell. Researchers believe that women have an innate ability to sniff out a mate with a genetically different immune system than their own, thus leading to stronger/ healthier offspring. Women on the birth control pill smelled out mates that were genetically similar. When they stopped the pill, I guess the main complaint was that their partner STUNK!!!

This is no joke. Check out the research for yourself.
