I have a few logistical questions about the ABORM exam, and emailed them to the ABORM through the website, and have not received a reply after 2 days. The deadline is approaching, so I hope it's ok to ask them here...
Do we need to get the copies of our CEU's notarized? Or just the application? I read somewhere that copies had to be notarized. Did that mean copies of an acupuncture license?
I read that we are not to bring in purses/bags. Is there a secure room to put them in during the exam?
Are there any breaks for snacks? Can we bring our own healthy snacks and leave them somewhere? Is there a lunch break? Can we bring in a bottle of water/lipbalm/gum? (very helpful in an exam....)
Thanks in advance.

Rachel -
Here was the email I sent:
"Hi Rachel -
I saw your post on CMT. I sure hope that you will plan on staying for some of the PCRS Conference. It's a great time to network with REI's, and your fellow TCM Infertility Specialists. We will also be hosting a reception for all ABORM attendees. Great time for family as well.
Answers to your questions:
1. Photocopies of CEU's do not need to be notarized.
2. All personal items, i.e. purses, should be left in your hotel room. We will not be providing a locked room, nor taking responsibility for personal items.
3. There will be water, tea, and coffee in the rear of the exam room, but not snacks will be allowed in the room. If you wish to take a break for a snack, a proctor will be available to go with you outside the examination room while you take a nutrition break.
4. There are no breaks or lunch served. The exam begins at 9 am and ends at 2 pm. At last year's exam, most examinees had a good health breakfast, then took a break if they felt like they needed to snack, then had lunch after the exam. "

Hi Ray-
Thanks for that info.
I never received your email (?). I wrote to the ABORM once before, about 2 years ago, and also never received a reply. I wonder if there is a glitch in the system? My spam filter is on "low" (as evidenced by all the Nigerian scam offers I get), so I don't think that was the problem.
Thanks for the heads-up.
That explains it! The Nigerian offers are from the ABORM. In addition to your certification in Oriental Reproductive Medicine, if you will simply give us your bank account number, we will deposit a million dollars in your account....:)
Seriously, though, sorry for the mix-up. You can always just email me directly if you have any questions:
