It is nice to offer some value added products in your clinic. These are products that complement or are useful in the treatment of your clients. They also add a little extra to your bottom line (bank account). This is what I call a win win. You offer a product to your clients that they need and also that is cheaper in your clinic than in the public stores.

A good example is keeping a small inventory of fertility products for those of you who treat reproductive health and Gynecology. I will use my clinic as an example, we offer ovulation predictor test and pregnancy test at the fraction of the cost of drug stores. We also supply a link to our supplier so if our patient wants to buy even greater quantities for less/item then they can go directly to our supplier. Click here for an example of how we do it at Acubalance.

If you are interested a good supplier of value added fertility products then check out Early Preg test on line store.

Key points
* Value Added - They actually need it and you are not up selling your patients
* Win Win - They need it and you offer it at a competitive price. Plus it is convenient for them to pick it up at your clinic than drive to another store. Your win is it is better in your pocket than in a big box store. And you provided a product to your client at a better price than the big box store.

I agree Lorne I have

I agree Lorne

I have started doing Facial Rejuvenation at the clinic I work at and have begun offering Organic skin care products. They are difficult to find and I keep a small amount in my office. Not only do my patients buy this products when commencing their facial treatments, they come in months afterwards to purchase the products they liked most.

it's a great way to start a secondary income as I don't have to be there for the sale, the secretary is able to take payment while I'm in the treatment room.

Wow, very nice - those seem more accurate and cheaper than store tests.

Have you had training specific to fertility? I found some very nice articles today by Randine Lewis. I was impressed, she knows her stuff.

Infertility training

Hi Burton,

I was one of Randine's very first students she mentored one on one.

I am happy you asked about training. I am not aware to date of any formal infertility training programs. However, Pro D seminars has launched an advanced training for those who want to specialize in Infertility. We have put together a large curriculum of great doctors from around the world. Most are distance learning (previously recorded) but there are also some live seminars coming up not available as distance learning.

The idea behind offering all these courses is to provide more educational foundation. It seems just wrong that someone can call them self a specialist after just one weekend course or seeing two infertility patients. So we have organized a comprehensive program of seminars. Hopefully this will lay the foundation for those who want to sit board exams in infertility or have a comprehensive background in infertility.

Course list will be available online Oct 1, 2007 at http://www.prodseminars.com/infertilityspecialization.html
