High FSH & Subclinical Hypothyroidism d/t candidiasis?

I wanted to see what experience others had with this issue.  I have a patient who is 40, with FSH > 25 (28), and TSH >2.5 (2.89).  Has had great response to acu/herbs for better menses and cervical mucus, chronic rhinitis & asthma, but FSH still high.  Will be re-checking FSH and TSH soon, but when I asked her if she'd had yeast infections, she said it used to be a terrible problem about 5-7 years ago.  Has anyone had a situation where they cleared a (latent) yeast infection and ovarian reserve improved?  Any comments would be appreciated.  Am thinking of having a stool sample analyzed for yeast, but then wondering if the next step would be herbs, or if other supplements would work faster.

Thanks, Lindsey

Mold?

Has your patient been exposed to toxic mold? In her home or workplace?Did anything different happen around 5 years ago, same time? This can cause many elusive symptoms and be a long-term issue, especially if she is still living in the moldy environment. There are blood tests to check if the antibodies are in her blood. www.moldrecovery@blogspot.com gives some great resources.

Just a thought, hope you are able to help her!

MOLD

I am currently treating a 38 yr old woman with extremely high FSH (and "old" ovum" !?!).  Her periods have been extremely irregular and she has (had) chronic candida.

We are only a few weeks into treatment but her menses are showing signs of regulating and she has been following my candida protocol (diet!!, Pau D'Arco and probiotics in the form of powdered lactobacillus acidophilus, bifidus longum, fantis and brevis.)   I am using patent herbs and acupuncture to help regulate her menses and tonify blood and qi; crack liver qi stagnatation.  She is looking and feeling 100% better.

She is seeing her consultant again this week (a bit early really) and is going to ask for another FSH test  - I am hopeful that there will be some improvement.  I will keep you posted.

Mold and high FSH

Thank you so much for your comments.  I just saw them now.  My patient lives in Rhode Island, so exposure to excess water is a real possibility.  I will investigate this further.  I ordered her a kit to submit a stool sample for yeast, but she hasn't collected it yet.  I will keep you posted as to what happens.
