Hi,

I am looking at the moment for comparying prices and quality for herbal granules.

I know in Canada, KPC is very good and also very expensive. I found a company named E-Fong. Their prices and service is really great. Does anyone know this company?  I would be greatfull to have any commment regarding this company or any other in Canada.

concentrates vs. concentrates

I sugest you read this huge post involving many practitioners about relating to this issue: http://www.chinesemedicinetools.com/community/forums/13009. My 2 cents; Efong claims to have higher concentration on most herbals than most other concentrate companies. It is a mainland company. check out the ad in the right column of this site, it goes to a canadian distributor for efong. Otherwise there is a company called bema in Vancouver that distributes sunten concetrates from taiwan. they are great with service, and can also package daily doses in paper sachets that are recyclable. that is my issue with efong, they are not very environmentally friendly with each days dose of each herb being in a separate little foil pack...therefore LOTS of these get used, and they are not recyclable. I also like sunten better because they have premade formulations that have been processed together, like you would decoct a raw herbal formula, so the energetic actions that occur when this is done together may be retained somewhat,...something that putting a bunch of single herbals together cannot boast. Regardless, I have switched to raw herbals, the way it used to be and should be. they just work the way they are said to work. Ask any expert and they will tell you that these concentrates are really a large experiment, only 50ish years old at most, and no one really knows how to use them perfectly. I think TCM seems to always be a learning journey, even sourcing your herbal medicine forces you to gain a deeper understanding of all aspects of the medicine you are giving your patients. Good luck with your medicinal endeavors,...eventually we will see you on the raw herbal side of things I am sure. Good Luck.

Thank you Webdoktor for your

Thank you Webdoktor for your advice. I really appreciate. I think you are right with the raw herbs saying that boiling them together is better. I agree, it makes sense. Unfortunately I am not ready yet or not enough convince to make the switch but who knows maybe I'll switch one day.
