Discoid Eczema Treatement

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the Chinese medicine cure is for Discoid Eczema?

After I researched online, I found that Three Yellow Cleanser Formula (San Huang Xi Ji) http://www.tcmpage.com/hpdermatosis.html is good for external use but when I enquired at my local herbs shop, they didn't know what it was as I didn't have the Chinese characters for them. Does anyone know the Chinese characters for it and whether it is effective for Discoid Eczema?

Anyway, the herb shop sold me Pien Tze Huang Unguentum Compositum cream but after Googling, I found out that it actually has a FDA warning:

Does anyone know how effective and save it is? Its ingredients are menthol, camphor, Panax Notoginseng, Rhizoma Paridis, Stearic Acid, Petrolatum, Glyerin, and Paraffin liquid.

Thanks,
Sherman

Discoid Eczema

 Hi Sherman,

Are you a practitioner?

Generally discoid, or nummular, eczema resolves fairly well with the appropriate treatment. I would say that an internal formula is the primary, with an external treatment to help speed up the result.

I am always leery of any cream from China town, as many of them contain undisclosed ingredients, as well as western medicines like steroids. Much better to get any medicine from a reliable source.

If you are a practitioner, you may want to check out Mazin Al Khafaji's upcoming lectures in Vancouver, B.C. He will be teaching on Atopic eczema, which can manifest in discoid forms sometimes (usually shows the presence of more dampness) and he will most likely teach on this. He is truly a master in this area, both in clinical practice and as a teacher. I fly to London England to finish his Dermatology diploma program and feel very happy to have him visit Vancouver (less travel!).
