Herbs made easy by Dr. Huang
I am curious to hear from those who spent time studying with Dr. Huang. I filmed two his of intensive courses (8 days course and then a 4 day course) but I have to be honest that i have not really sat with his material yet. Now that we have put his 4 day course on line I plan to take my time and really understand and learn his methods using these Shang Han Lun formulas. I am interested in hearing from those who have (A) been using his theories to apply herbal formulas and (B) actually took the time to learn the material. Not looking for comments from someone like me who was physically present but mentally absent. Practitioners have been registering for Dr. Huang's Ten Formula Families in Chinese Medicine in incredible high daily numbers since it was released on Sept 5th. So he obvious has an incredible reputation around the world. So my question is.... is he the real deal? Have you found adding this skill set to your tool box a great addition?

the small thing I can tell you on my side, other than my interest in Dr. Huang is a friend, also practitionner, who went to China for three or four months latelly and came back with this book. He said that Dr. Huang is very popular in China.

Dr Huang: Essential Study
Twice this year I have had the privilege of studying with Dr Huang Huang. Huang is a Shang Han Lun Scholar. His special focus has been the development of the system 10 body types. These body types are archetypal representations of pattern imbalances. Just as we might diagnose a person as having a wood, or fire constitution, this system presents constitutional constellations that are reflected in the patterns treated by an herb and its formulas. Thus, an herb reflects a type of person or way of being in the world and also a predisposition towards developing a certain kind of disease pattern.
Dr. Huang presents with such clarity that he reduces the most complex cases to their simplest components: the components of the qi dynamic of the body. His perspective is refreshing in it’s depth, focus and simplicity. It reminds us that Chinese herbs treat an entire gestalt: how a person comes into the world. How they are predisposed to imbalance.
I strongly recommend this course to beginning and experienced practitioners.
