Male Infertility: Low Sperm Count
36 year old male
CC: Low sperm count
The patient came to use for very low sperm count. Both him and his wife were coming for fertility treatments. They had been trying to conceive for 18 months with no luck. In the past, he admitted, he has used the withdrawal method of birth control for 7 years without ever having any "accidents".
The patient is thin, a little gaunt, and grey haired. When he comes into the clinic he is very talkative and happy. He tells us he tends towards being stress or high-strung. He complains that he also suffers from odd dreams, but not necessarily bad. He also suffers from seminal emission but rarely. His grey hair started when he was 20.
Urination, BM, digestion is normal. In the past he suffered from gastro-enteritis.
Casual drinker, and smokes 1 to 2 cigarettes a week. Had the mumps when he was 5 and chicken pox at 7 with no known complications.
Hot at night and sweats. Also, when he exercises, he sweats alot.
Tongue: white coating, pale, puffy
Pulse: slightly rapid, wiry
Treatment:
Yang Jing Zhong Yu Tang 40g
Zuo Gui Wan 45g
Niu Xi 20g
After 3 months of treatment, his wife got  pregnant.
