Hey, they did that in Starwars
Things You Didnt Know, TCM Style

I am currently watching Ikeda Masakazu and Edward Obaidey's DVD called Exploring the Shan Han Lun. For those who practice Japanese acupuncture, they already know who these great teachers are, however, this is not a well know DVD lecture set. (Which is a pitty).
I think many people are more fimilar with Ikeda Sensei's only book in english and the video that goes along with that. I know in my area in Vancouver, Ikeda has a cult like following at the moment.
This video is great because Ikeda has what I would call a balanced approach between Japanese Meridian Therapy Style and Traditional Chinese Medicine. In this DVD he is teaching this lecture to mostly TCM practitioners, so he trys to explain both sides when possible. This DVD is for TCM people as much as the meridian therapy people.
As for actual application, this is when Ikeda Sensei truly shines. You can tell by his needling and hand movements that he is a true master. This is a hallmark of Japanese acupuncture in general (the stress they put on being technically profiecient). His needling may be a little strange to those who only do straight TCM, but there is alot to be learned here even if its not what you practice. Besides, Im not intrested in learning/ watching something I already can do!
8 DVDs in all, Ive only made it through 4 so far. Each morning is theory and afternoon is practical hands on. Again, this DVD is only avaliable through pro-d seminars here in NA.
I had to have a laugh and take a break to write this when someone made a funny comment.
Ikeda says: In mongolia, sometimes when people are really sick, because it is so cold, they cut out the insides of animals (sheep, goats, etc), and place the person inside.
Someone yells out: Hey, they did that in starwars.
Classic!
