Why You Should Attend State and National AOM Conferences by Amy Sear

I really enjoyed Amy's article in AT's June edition. Full copy is attached to this page called AT course appetizers.pdf

I could not agree more how the big symposiums are really about sharing and connecting with like minded colleagues. Staying current on what is happening in our profession and creating lasting friendships. Being Cont Ed junkie I have traveled far and wide to learn as much as I can and I have also come to learn that the connections I make with other TCMers is my greatest gain. It is a great asset to be able to call upon a colleague in another city, or with more experience to ask for help with a challenging case. The courses at conferences for the most part are really teasers. They are to let you know what is out there and then you need to find put when the speaker is presenting a two or three day seminar on the same topic.

I really enjoyed Amy's article and I think she is right on the money. As she puts it..... Don't base your attendance on courses. Go to conferences to give and receive energy. Go to conferences to “bring together.” Please share your unique and vital energy with your profession. Your energy will make the difference. Bring it along. And finally, have fun!"
